David M. started music, playing the piano at age six(6) and did formal piano through to Grade eight (8).He has played and or sang from ages 8-16 on TV, at the Institute of Jamaica, at Jamaica Festival and with the Jamaica School of Music Orchestra for a short time under the direction of Paulette Bellamy.
He visited his first studio- Aquarius at 17 and was bitten with wanting to write and produce his own music. That was to wait as he went away to Law School and completed his Law studies. However his father’s death in his final year at Law School meant he had to take over the family business.
Again music had to take a back seat.
In the 90’s he hooked up with Gussy Clarke and Anchor Recording and wrote songs for such artists, Gregory Isaacs, Freddie McGregor, Coco Tea, JC Lodge among others but abandoned music yet again for the rigors of the family business at the time.
He has returned after 14 years with the single “Lest we Forget” which ironically was written 15 years ago on the eve of the inauguration of Nelson Mandela as President of South Africa…. The words are as relevant today as they ever were.
David M. is on the rise and “Lest we forget” is only an introduction of what he has to offer. With
his profound writing skills and multi functional talent of singing and playing the keyboard, he is actively pursuing his passion, and will subsequently produce an album. Look out for this creative and soulful artiste, destined to providing inspirational music.
